Welcome From the Principal
Welcome to Gateway Elementary School,
I am ecstatic to be starting another academic year with the Gateway family. I, along with the faculty and the staff of Gateway Elementary, are excited to have all students back in the classrooms after summer break and filling the hallways with energy and enthusiasm. I know this is going to be an amazing year as we are "On Our Way" to changing lives, learning, and levels of opportunities for every OWL at Gateway. If you are new to our school family, you will find that this is truly a special place where all students are known and engage in enjoyable learning experiences daily.
As the principal of Gateway Elementary, I pledge to our community that students’ social emotional well-being and quality instruction will be the foundation of everything we do, say, and plan. All students will engage with grade level texts, academic conversation with peers, and all supports needed to access learning. This year we will continue theWit & Wisdom for ELA core content, as well as, increasing our attention on making meaning of mathematical concepts. These areas of support will be a clear path to making sure we are the Gateway to the GREATway.
Finally, we request that families support Gateway through two-way communication and ensuring students attend school daily. If a student is absent, then he or she cannot learn; therefore, we ask that you make every effort to guarantee that your child is in school when feeling well enough to attend. Additionally, as we learned last year, communication is the core of supporting the whole learning experience, so please remain in communication with teachers, staff, and administration as frequently as possible.
