Welcome to Gateway Elementary School

Ashley Jackson Principal

Greetings Gateway Families,

Welcome back to another fantastic year at Gateway to the Greatway! If you are new to our school family, welcome! You’ll quickly discover that Gateway is a truly special place where every student is known, valued, and engaged in meaningful, joyful learning every day.

I, along with the dedicated faculty and staff of Gateway Elementary, am thrilled to welcome our students back after a refreshing summer break. We are confident that this will be an incredible year as we continue Growing Gateway through our garden-inspired journey—where students will Thrive in relationships, Cultivate academic growth, and Bloom into future leaders.

As principal of Gateway Elementary, I pledge that students’ social-emotional well-being and high-quality instruction will guide all we do. This year we are expanding our work with the International Baccalaureate (IB) program—a globally recognized framework focused on developing curious, knowledgeable, and caring students. You’ll hear terms like Learner Profiles, Transdisciplinary Themes, and Exhibitions throughout the year, with family-friendly resources shared along the way. New this year, upper grades will begin Spanish emergent classes, supporting our commitment to global learning and preparing students to become world-ready leaders.

Attendance is also critical to academic success. Students with five or more absences will be contacted by our attendance team to explore ways we can support your family. Please ensure your child attends school daily unless they are sick with a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or serious medical concerns. Good sleep, hygiene, and nutrition all support student well-ness. If you need help in any of these areas, don’t hesitate to reach out—our team is here to connect you with the resources you need.

I look forward to welcoming you back home in the days, weeks, and months ahead! If ever there is a question or concern, please feel free to email me or by phone at 615-860-1465.

Thank you,

Ashley Jackson, Ed.S

Executive Principal
